Morality in law is like what?

Dec 12, 2009 7:06 PM By Kee , In

Hey all,
As Ally has done most of the work so far I have decided to finally post something :), and what better place to put me first post than Horace's Corner?
So, I was sitting playing games on the computer thinking about what to write. Then it hit me. Tubby toast! You see, not so long ago our favourite teacher decided to compare the morality of law, both modern and old, to the morality in the Teletubbies. This, for those of you who have not had the pleasure of watching it, is a television show for children aged one to four. Horace is apparently of the opinion that law can be very much like Noo-Noo (pronounced Nuu-Nuu)- always cleaning up and being bossed about, but never getting any tubby toast as a reward.
I have no idea what was going on in in Horace's head at that moment in time ( and I'm not sure I'd want to). What I do want to know is what a man in his 60s is doing watching a T.V show for two year olds? Any ideas? Also, feel free to write to us about your own experiences with these strange beings calling themselves teachers.

Wee, I've got to go put Horace back in his corner now so I'll talk to you later.

Love,
Kee
-xXx-

Who is Horace?

Dec 7, 2009 9:52 PM By Ally , In

Everyone has or had a teacher like Horace. Someone who will rattle off random analogies and absurd comparisions, someone who spouts stuff that just doesn’t make any sense, and whose lessons are always accompanied by some kind of crazy anecdote. And yet, despite this, he occasionally (very occasionally) manages to utter some words of wisdom, worth cherishing for…well, for about an hour.

Here we’ll post all our Horace-isms. If your teachers, past or present, have imparted something you think is worthy of sharing, email us at monumentaloddities@gmail.com, (include the first name of the teacher in question if you know it) and we’ll put it up.
